Dear Yuletide author

Whoever you are, wherever you are, whether you're an old hand or a terrified newbie, thank you for being part of the crazy magical journey that is Yuletide, and for writing a story just for meeeee.
But actually the main thrust of my "Dear author" letter, as always, somewhat contradicts that first paragraph, because what I hope you get in this challenge is an opportunity to write a story that interests yoooooooou. I hope you have fun writing and you're not tearing your hair out saying "Why did I offer that fandom?" (NB, though, if you are: One of my favorite stories that I've written was the result of a challenge prompt I thought I'd hate. So there's hope! Lots and lots of hope.) If my prompts are in your inbox, it means we have (at least) one of these funny little fandoms in common, and I look forward to discovering what you, you very special mystery person, see in it. The rest is gravy.
Mmmmm, gravy.
People's Yuletide author letters seem to be more of a THING every year? and I want to be helpful, of course, but I also have gotten lovely Yuletide fic in the past by providing the same level of information and guidance contained in the present post. If I do not seem a sufficiently open book I would suggest clicking the "yuletide" tag and taking a quick skim to further divine my inner workings.
Happy writing!
