This vid obviously owes its existence to sparkly_stuff's inspirational I'M ON A SHIP. It is also, fair warning, my first vid. Basically I waited a couple days to see if anyone else was going to make a vid like this, and they didn't, so I did. (See ETA below! The internet is big.)

Special thanks as usual to doorrepairgirl for support and brainstorming. Oh, and many thanks to this tutorial for n00bs. Fortunately I went into this with some iMovie experience already under my belt, but I sure needed newbie tips all the same.

I, uh, have no other real notes. I think it kind of speaks for itself. (And what it says, I hope, is, "You can't stop me, motherfucker, 'cause I'm on a boat.")

Whoa! Exciting ETA: It has already been done! Our approaches are different, but we are in agreement about "I fucked a mermaid". \o/

OH THAT WAS JUST FUCKING AWESOME.

I love the matchup of words and images, especially with the "flips and shit" and the "fucked a mermaid" and MOST OF ALL with Spock telling the Vulcan motherfuckers he's on a BOAT. ("Motherfuckers" really, REALLY works with what they've just said to him in that scene. AWESOME.)

And eeek, I was all excited about this and twittered a link, and it occurs to me that I don't know how the Powers That Be are in this case, whether they're all Joss-like about vids or totally cease-and-desist, and it's not like I have many followers but my twitter isn't privated, should I take that down?

You know, my feeling about that is, these two sources are owned by extremely large media empires and it will either be yanked by Monday or it won't. :) So I just hope people enjoy it while it's here.

(At least, I assume NBC/Universal has some sort of intellectual property claim on "I'm on a Boat". If not, then I don't imagine Lonely Island caring--back when they were independently doing online videos, they actually put all their work under a Creative Commons license.)

Yay! Oh, I really liked this. I don't want to invite warring but I think I like your approach better than the other vid's, because I think this benefits from nonlinear storytelling.

I watched this yesterday but just realized I didn't get a chance to comment. I've seen several I'm On A Boat/Star Trek vids done, but I honestly like yours the best (with the exception of this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wJ-AYiEL7E) because she used my lyrics ;D) You did a great job with the editing!
