Tell me of a fandom you know I know of and I'll tell you:

1. The character I first fell in love with:
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't:
4. The character I love that everyone else hates:
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer:
6. The character I would shag anytime:
7. The character I'd want to be like:
8. The character I'd slap:
9. A pairing that I love:
10. A pairing that I despise:

I think some of these questions are kind of weird, but I'm too lazy to make up my own.

1. The character I first fell in love with: I gotta say, I fell for the whole show.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: BJ! For a while I just wasn't that interested for some reason, and then that goody-two-shoes got under my skin for keeps.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Is there anyone I don't love on this show? I can't think of anyone.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Is there a character that everyone hates? I mean, I love Frank, but in the sense that I love, you know, CSM, not in the sense that I support his life choices and would want to hang out with him. In a way I feel a little sorry for him for having to be so one-dimensionally written while everyone else got to evolve a more interesting personality. Also, it took me like three years of on-and-off viewing to realize that Frank is totally homosexual.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I don't think I have ever lost any love that I've acquired in my time watching the series.

6. The character I would shag anytime: I'm going to be contrary and say Margaret. They don't call her Hot Lips for nothing.

7. The character I'd want to be like: That's a toughie. I'd like to be an actually decent and morally upright yet quick-witted and funny person like BJ, or an island of competence in Crazy Land like Radar. And of course, I'd like to have Klinger's fashion sense.

8. The character I'd slap: Certainly no one deserves it more than Frank, but see #4.

9. A pairing that I love: I love me some Hawkeye/Trapper and unconsummated Hawkeye/BJ, and I'd love to see someone write good Hawkeye/Radar someday. (If there were some way for there to be good, believable BJ/Trapper, I'd be so in favor of that. It would be like New Ray/Old Ray with more angst.)

10. A pairing that I despise: There is not enough of a fandom for this show, or enough pairings in actual canon, for there to be pairings that I despise. I would say that most scenarios that involve Father Mulcahy having sex with anyone are not likely to win my unadulterated approval.

Hmm...

1. The character I first fell in love with: Well, it was the PoA movie that got me to finally go read all the books, so really I think the answer to this one would be Alfonso Cuaron. Failing that, I suppose it would be Remus, or really David-Thewlis-as-Remus, that got me interested enough to enter this insane fandom.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Hmm. Draco? I used to be entertained by Felton's performance and rather blah about what Rowling was doing with him in actual canon, but HBP cemented my love for canon!Draco.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Oh, there is no character that everyone loves. But I'm not crazy about the Weasley twins, I gotta say, and not just because of #4.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Again, I know not everyone (http://www.livejournal.com/community/percy_fans) hates him, but I am fond of Percy. He's a very well-written antagonistic character, and I think he appeals to my sympathy the same way that Jeffrey Spender did back on XF.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: My phase of being particularly interested in Sirius was a fairly short one. I wrote one Sirius/Remus fic and got it out of my system.

6. The character I would shag anytime: All of those people are insane, dude. The safest bet would probably be Oliver Wood, who is attractive, probably not insane, and is no longer anywhere near the insane people in the main plot.

7. The character I'd want to be like: All of those people are insane. Well, maybe not Neville. I wouldn't mind being like Neville in certain ways. Especially in the GoF movie where he apparently gets some action.

8. The character I'd slap: Oh, how could one pass up the opportunity to slap any of them? Except Neville, I suppose, and McGonagall.

9. A pairing that I love: I like a good Harry/Neville or a Snape/Lupin now and then, and I wouldn't kick just about any Marauders-era pairing out of bed for eating crackers. Although of course, what I really like to read are the crazy-ass pairings that I haven't seen yet.

10. A pairing that I despise: Remus/Tonks. I assume I don't need to elaborate. ;)

What are these pairings? I wouldn't like to think my fandom isn't doing a good enough job of supplying Every Possible Pairing.

What I mean is, the ones I haven't thought of. You know how you'll be scrolling along and go, "Arthur Weasley/Rita Skeeter, huh?" and suddenly that will sound like a brilliant idea.

Although what I really mean is there's so freaking much of this fandom that I don't go around looking for a particular pairing, I just read whatever looks like it might be good, and this has tended to serve me well.

Ah, now I understand. Yes, I appreciate those too. I like an author who can make Arthur/Rita my OTP For A Day.

1. The character I first fell in love with: Dana, I think, and/or Natalie. They were brilliant, super-competent, multidimensional; they were leaders and fighters. They were crazy, of course, but everyone was equally crazy--that was back when Sorkin really didn't think women were a special-interest group or that they were any crazier than men.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I suppose that when Sam Donovan first appeared I didn't know how much I was going to love him, but I must have had some inkling since he was played by William H. Macy.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I think everyone loves every regular character, and I do too.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Can't think of anyone, really. I think if the show had been on longer there would be more major characters and more reason to have character wars.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: See above under M*A*S*H.

6. The character I would shag anytime: Natalie. And if Natalie and Jeremy aren't separable, well, that's all right too.

7. The character I'd want to be like: Isaac, the only exception to "everyone is insane" in #1. He has the nobility of spirit and inspiring leadership that I sure wish I had esp. for the purposes of any of my chosen vocations. Also, he is essentially the same character as Colonel Potter, which only serves to make him cooler.

8. The character I'd slap: Danny. Yeah, I love him. But he does need a little smack upside the head.

9. A pairing that I love: Dan/Casey, natch. This show has an OTP built in, and sometimes you just have to accept that.

10. A pairing that I despise: Are there bad pairings in this fandom?

Oh, boy. You know I barely even remember due South! The only characters I can even name off the top of my head are Fraser, Ray, Ray, Fraser Sr., Frannie, Thatcher, Stella (whom I don't remember at all, and can't bring up a visual), Victoria (ditto), and Buck Frobisher. I suppose I'd shag most of the folks in the younger generation (especially Ray K), I love Fraser Sr. more than I used to, I don't know which characters other people like or don't like so I can't say which unpopular opinions I have, I love me some Ray/Ray, and I'm not sure I'd like to be like any of them, though I'd invite most of them to a dinner party. . .

Hahahaha, you're right! Oh, fandom osmosis. I can't believe I forgot Diefenbaker.

I wouldn't mind being like Dief--he's loyal, brave, he's a good listener and he's found his ideal life companion. . .
