Doing the most flexible meme evar:

Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I'll give you either (a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon, (b) a reason he/she sucks, (c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes, (d) five things that never happened to that character or (e) five people that character never fell in love with and why. You pick the character. I pick the letter.

Fandoms: Slings & Arrows, M*A*S*H, Harry Potter, X-Files, The West Wing, Hitch-Hiker's Guide, Dirk Gently, Homicide: Life on the Street, kinda Stargate Atlantis (I'm like a season and a half behind? but I was way into it when I had cable and someone to watch it with me? so you can throw somebody at me and I'll see what I can do), kinda House (ditto), most major Tom Stoppard plays, Sports Night, Star Wars, the Tarantinoverse, the Askewniverse, most Neil Gaiman things, Lucifer (the Vertigo series), most Shakespeare plays, The Persuaders!, The Prisoner, Sherlock Holmes, Casablanca, Highlander, Black Books...

You know, the usual.

NB 1) I have NOT forgotten that thing with Harriet Vane and the thing. Unlike most things I promise to write, it will probably actually HAPPEN. Although Yuletide takes precedence. 2) Wimseyverse is mysteriously not on above list! Why oh why? Well, you can try me, but the embarrassing and also somewhat fic-slowing thing is, I remember a large amount of Wimsey canon very poorly or not at all, as I only "read" several of the books via my dad reading them to me when I was like ten, so other Wimsey fen will talk about things I'm obviously supposed to know and I'll be like, "Yeah! That guy! (Note to self: Actually read Unnatural Death on my own one of these years.)"

So, I wrote a paper about that guy once, in which I argued that his ditching Falstaff was...good (I don't remember what proper academically accepted terms I used, but that was what it boiled down to), and I think that's all I ever really had to say about him. I wouldn't say that ditching Falstaff makes him "awesomecakes", though. Just, you know, layered.

Yeah, I got nothing. You wanna take this one? :)

My personal Bernard canon:

1) He thinks he's the normal one.

2) Sometimes his first instinct when he opens his mouth is to say something that actually sounds kind of sensible, and he has to suppress that instinct with finely honed powers of suppression that took years to perfect.

3) "Black" has only been the family name for a few generations. They changed it hoping to shake off the curse of the scandal-plagued aristocratic branch of the family. Blood will out, though, and Blackadder blood never gives up without a very dirty fight.

Oh, dear, picturing Bernard as a Blackadder is utterly priceless. I'm going to have that in my head for days. :D

Thessaly! Man, Thessaly is awesome because she is Thessaly. Also, when I was in high school I think I was particularly fond of her because I looked a good bit like her except she had bigger glasses. She looks like the soft-spoken librarian who lives alone in the little house at the end of the block with all the cats, except that she will fuck your shit up.

Tonks

I think you only need to skim Unnatural Death. Before I read it, I assumed that it hadn't been filmed because it is the One With All the Lesbians. Then I read it and realised that actually it hadn't been filmed because it's the One With All the Dull Bits About Law. Although Peter and Parker do end up sharing a bed(room? - 'tis unclear} at one point. It has lavender-scented sheets.
