(Did everybody see Neil Patrick Harris on the fruitiest theater-dorkiest SNL episode ever last night? If not, you know, feel free to rectify that oversight.)

[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: that was a really solid episode, i have to say
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: I agree
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Moral: NPH makes everything better
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: NPH: mandatory for all television from here on out
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: also, all internet productions
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: and broadway
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: better fire up those cloning machines
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: That's how to save Broadway!
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: FOR REAL
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: NO SERIOUSLY
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: I KNOW
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Somebody needs to get ON that
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: i think the answer is either cloning or the cancellation of HIMYM
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: These are difficult times
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: They call for difficult choices
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Damn, if only we were the ones making those choices instead of the bozos who are currently charged with them
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: time for a coup, i guess
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: though i'd have to put on shoes...
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: I'll bring the marshmallows
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: and i am already in my pajamas...
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: (perhaps "still" is more accurate than "already" in this instance)
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: (details)
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Neil Patrick Harris and Billy Bob Thornton in...
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: um...
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Fuck, I don't know, Frost/Nixon or something

[digression on existing properties that need to be made into musicals ensues]

[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: oh! some like it hot!
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: OH
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: that should be on broadway
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: OR
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: It has been a musical, actually
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: the persuaders
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: nom
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: You know Ben Stiller is planning to make a Persuaders movie with Coogan, tho
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: okay, my brain was kind of going "someone's probably thought of that before"
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: oh man, that's right
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: i remember you saying that
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: forgot about coogan being involved though
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Yeah, that was ages ago, maybe nothing will happen
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: We thought up better people to be in it, now that I think of it
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: did we?
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: James Callis needed to be Roger Moore
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: That's the Baltar dude, right?
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: yesss!
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: oh man
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: And now we know who needs to be Tony Curtis!
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: NPH could do it
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: We had great difficulty with it before but NOW WE KNOW
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: they're about of an age
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: strewth
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: although NPH might be just a smidge too clean-cut
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: he'd have to do some stretching to be a little more rough-and-tumble
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: It's true
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: (not that tony curtis sells the "fresh off the streets" all that well)
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: He's not of an age with Persuaders-era Curtis
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: (hee)
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: er, no, but he and callis are of an age
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: -ish
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Yeah
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: As I recall we had a tough time trying to cast them properly because Curtis and Moore were so surprisingly...oldish
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: So to heck with all that
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: DOOGIE AND BALTAR ALL THE WAY
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: They fight crime
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: hells yeah they do
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: ON BROADWAY
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: Hahaha
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: THE MUSICAL
[livejournal.com profile] doorrpairgirl: honestly, it's not like it could actually be any gayer than the original show
[livejournal.com profile] very_improbable: This is true

Yes, I saw SNL and was amazed by the in-jokey Broadway sketch, which I appreciated because I live in NYC and worked in the theater, but I did have to wonder why they did it for a national show. And Doogie is so very fruitalicious!
